Ellsworth swim teams sweep against Old Town

first_imgOLD TOWN — The Ellsworth boys’ and girls’ swim teams were both victorious Friday evening as the Eagles earned a road sweep against Old Town.On the girls’ side, Ellsworth earned a 96-72 win over Old Town. The Eagles swept all three relay events with wins in the 200-yard medley relay and 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays.Individually, Kristy Barry (100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke) and Caroline Mazgaj (200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke) had two wins apiece for Ellsworth. Ellie Anderson (200-yard individual medley) and Caitlin MacPherson (100-yard freestyle) also posted individual wins.The Ellsworth boys added relay wins in all three events en route to an 86-50 victory over Old Town. Sean Hill (200 IM and 100 breaststroke), Nick Partridge (100 backstroke and 100 fly) and Henry Scheff (50- and 100-yard freestyles) earned two individual wins apiece for the victorious Eagles.This is placeholder textThis is placeholder textThe meet followed Ellsworth’s home dual meet Tuesday against Belfast. The Ellsworth girls topped the Lions 91-79, and the boys fell 78-76 in a tight battle.Ellsworth’s next meet will be against Foxcroft at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA in Dover-Foxcroft.last_img read more
