High school dealing with unsanctioned fights

Fort St. John RCMP and school officials are trying to address what they are calling a “disturbing trend”.Some students have been participating in unsanctioned, group fights near North Peace Secondary School. Police say the fights appear to be organized and pre-planned and that the individuals involved are seen wearing MMA-style fighting gloves.- Advertisement -There have also been reports of students videotaping the fights and posting the videos on YouTube.Students that have been identified as participating in the fights are being dealt with, says Raymond Asai, principal of NPSS. Asai says the fights have been occurring off school property, but have been taking place during school hours as well as after school and on weekends.He says student safety is the school’s primary concern which is why the school is working with the RCMP to try and deal with the situation to ensure students don’t get hurt.There has been no indication as to how many of these fights have already occurred.Advertisementlast_img read more
