New Shazam Trailer Is a Hilarious Take on Adult Superheroes

Yes, please. A new Shazam! trailer is out, and it shows Billy Batson’s hilarious experience as a teen stuck inside an “adult” superhero body.Warner Bros. Pictures teased a new Shazam! trailer on Monday, and it’s definitely on the lighter side of most DC Comics stories. The film follows Batson, who runs into a wizard and suddenly can transform into a grown-up superhero by shouting one word: Shazam! The movie, which stars Zachary Levi and Jack Dylan Grazer, will premiere in theaters on April 5.Batson, a 14-year-old foster kid, is chosen by an ancient wizard to embark on the greatest superhero journey, except he’ll have to act like an “adult” through it all. Once Batson goes through the crazy change, “IT,” Batson’s best friend, becomes his superhero enthusiast and helps him practice his powers. (Including having “Captain Sparkle-Fingers” buy some beer at a gas station.)It’s not all fun though for Batson: Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, a villain, is coming to town to stir up some trouble. Batson will have to quickly master his powers and fight Dr. Sivana, which means he’ll have to hide his teen personality from everyone.
