World T20: ICC suspends Taskin Ahmed, Arafat Sunny for illegal bowling actions

first_imgThe International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and pacer Taskin Ahmed from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect after finding out their actions to be illegal. Both the bowlers went through assessments in Chennai last week, where their actions were reckoned to be illegal.Taskin and Sunny were reported for suspect actions during the World T20 match against Netherlands.However, both the bowlers can apply for re-assessment after changing their bowling actions, but at this stage can continue playing domestic cricket with their cricket’s board’s permission.The duo featured in Bangladesh’s first match in the Super 10 stage against Pakistan, where Sunny and Taskin returned with two wickets each. The Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to name their replacements.last_img
