LG Nexus 4 revealed early by Carphone Warehouse

first_imgMan, it’s sure hard to keep secrets if you’re a company with a smartphone or tablet you want to keep quiet until launch day. Just ask Apple. If some sneaky devil with a camera isn’t snapping pics of pre-production units, retailers are letting inventory listings slip out left and right. Listings like the one Carphone Warehouse posted for the LG Nexus 4.With this latest leak, the Nexus 4 has cemented its status as the worst kept smartphone secret ever. There aren’t a whole lot of new details contained in the Carphone Warehouse posting, but what we’ve already seen before has been confirmed:quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 native resolution (roughly 320ppi)8GB of internal storageno microSD expansion slot, in keeping with previous Nexus device offerings8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 360-degree panorama supportAndroid 4.2And of course there’s mention made of the new Swype-style Nexus Keyboard, which Carphone Warehouse refers to as “Gesture Typing. ” It’s also noted that the Nexus 4 will officially go on sale on October 30th, just a day after Google’s launch event. One particularly juicy tidbit that we hadn’t heard of previously is that the Nexus 4 may very well be free on-contract. Carphone Warehouse shows the $0 deal on new activations with either Vodafone or O2.Whether that means we’ll all be able to get our hands on the smartphone equivalent of a Nexus 7 that’s actually priced similarly remains to be seen, but CW’s itchy trigger finger has certainly given us reason to hope.More at BBClast_img
