Multicultural grants are open

first_imgThe Multicultural Grants program is designed to provide support to South Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, especially new and emerging communities, to develop and sustain local community organisations and programs. The initiative belongs to the South Australian government, which remains devoted to helping ethnic communities celebrate and preserve the nation’s collective nature.The funds are disbursed in October, December, March, May and July while applications are assessed five times per year. The deadline for the next round comes to a close on Friday 30 January 2015. Applicants must be aware that food and drink, as well as any retrospective support for function or services shall not be funded. Excluded from the grants are also petrol expenses and volunteer honorariums, including social club activities and members’ subscriptions.Amongst the list of activities that will not receive funds are costs of newsletters, radio stations, newspapers as well as any kind of project which duplicates existing services already available to the community’s members. Participation in interstate events, political or religious activities; competitions and prizes are also excluded.
