Fans at Beaver Stadium were asked to take shelter from a coming storm earlier this morning.Just 20 minutes before the game was scheduled to kick off, Penn State announced the game is in a weather delayPenn State and Pitt have an incredible rivalry on the gridiron. This year’s game should be quite chippy, especially with the schools accusing each other of stealing signs.Before the Nittany Lions and Panthers can take the field on Saturday, they’re waiting for lightning in the area to clear. Stadium officials for Penn State are monitoring the weather to figure out when the game will kick off after a brief delay. Fans at Beaver Stadium were asked to take shelter until the weather clears up in Happy Valley.Penn State Athletics released a statement on the current situation, saying “The Beaver Stadium gates are closed to fans. Those outside the stadium should seek shelter in IM, the Bryce Jordan Center, the Multi-Sport building, and the Snyder Ag Arena.”Correction: The Beaver Stadium gates are closed to fans.
